I Quit

Today I quit my job. It was a bad job, and I don’t want to go into details, but trust me on this. It was just bad. When I told my boss he said, “Oh? So you’re just gonna give up?”

Give up? No. I need to let this go so I have space for something better in my life. This is what I said to him, and I was (and still am) completely serious. He was dead silent. I think he wasn’t sure if I was being a smart alack or pulling his leg or what, but it’s true. Sometimes you have to let things go in order to allow room in your life for something better. Other people may say you are quitting, but there’s a huge difference between quitting and letting something go that is no longer serving you, or worse, damaging you.

This doesn’t just apply to jobs. If you are looking for something such as a collectible or a certain object, try making a space for it. Get rid of clutter and broken objects or things that no longer serve a purpose in your home. This is one of the easiest ways to improve the energy in your home, and you will be surprised by how often the desire object magically appears.

If you are looking for a new job or career path, it isn’t always necessary to let your current one go. After all, we all have bills to pay. But you may be able to let go of extra projects or certain things while you are sending out your resume or beginning your own business.

It is also important to create a space for your relationships. If you are looking for a new love in your life, don’t keep the old one around just so you won’t be lonely! Not only is this damaging to the energy you are sending out, and thus the type of people you will attract, but it is not fair to the other person. Let them go with love and wish them well, and you will have space for someone new. Some people have had success by cleaning out a bottom drawer so another person will have room to put things or even making space in their closet. Most people seem to just leave room in the bathroom for someone else’s stuff.

What are you holding on to that is no longer serving you? What do you need to “quit” in order to allow more love and better things in your life? When people call you a quitter how do you react? Do you get defensive and start believing the negative voices in your head, or can you listen to your True Self and find your own path to happiness?

Here’s hoping I can.

Excellent article. My mother used to call it "creating a vacuum." And we've all been taught that "Nature abhors a vacuum." 🙂 I'm going to pass your idea of the empty drawer to my daughter, who is looking for a BF.

I'll be following you from now on.

    Blessings,
