Isn’t it funny how sometimes we get so wrapped up in the little details that we forget the big picture?
I was just talking to some people in one of my Facebook groups and I realized that even though I have been working very hard on getting my “Awaken Your Divine Power” Program ready to launch next week, I have left out one of the most important steps:
Setting My Intention.
Now, some people might think of this as meditation, they may do visualization techniques, they may pray, chant, or create Visualization and Prosperity Boards. In my opinion, all of these things are pretty much the same thing, only in different forms.
My preferred form is using candles and doing what most people refer to as candle magic. I will be setting my intentions, writing down my goals, and visualizing success. Sound familiar? There have actually been huge mainstream movements around these things in the business world, and a plethora of self-help books that use these very techniques.
In my mind, it all comes down to the same thing because no matter how you are doing it, you are working with positive energy, creating momentum in your life, and opening yourself up to receive your Gifts from the Universe. These are very important steps to do when creating and working with your business. Even if someone doesn’t believe in magic or prayer, most people can recognize the value of visualizing success and planning their futures.
So when you are writing your Mission Statement, preparing a new program to launch, or speaking to potential clients, what do you do to prepare yourself for success? What steps do you take beforehand to make sure you are ready for this work and the results? I’d love to hear about your own particular brand of “magic.”
As for me, I need to run and get some candles!
Have a Blessed Day. ๐

When setting my intention I write down what I want to achieve in the present tense (I have 10 paying Reiki clients a week), jot down some Reiki symbols, write “Thank you, Thank you, Thank you” and “This or something better for my highest good. It is done”. I then fold the piece of paper in half and send Reiki to it while visualizing myself doing what I wrote for one minute.
I continue do send Reiki and visualize for a week and then toss the paper into my Reiki crystal grid so it continues to get energetic support.
I also follow up with visualization and meditation on my goals on a mostly daily basis.
That’s a great technique, Amanda! You put a lot of energy and effort into that – good for you!
I personally usually write and say, “It always works.” Because then it does. ๐
Actually, Ame, I have been known to sit out under the stars with a client (or two), sipping wine, discussing mission statements with a few candles around. (I seem to recall our original mission statement involved candles and wine- but mostly because the power was out…)
See Roy, I knew you were a Magician! ๐
I love candles.
I actually really enjoy rituals. I was raised Catholic and left that religion when I was fourteen, but what I loved and still like about it was the candles, incense and prayers. I now take part in an East Indian philosophy and love wearing saris with flowers in my hair, using incense candles, and more. I think that as long as you are doing the ritual with the intention of love it is beneficial…
I think you are exactly right, Marian.
Do you mean that you incorporate lighting candles as part of your intention-setting? I use a variety of things: reiki symbols and crystals on top of something I have written down, putting something on the windowsill when it’s time for the full moon or new moon, etc.
Jeanine, I think of lighting the candles and intention-setting as part of my “Spell Work,” while other people call it other things. It’s all Magic to me.
Love what you do. Some Reiki symbols are also known and taught as magic siguls. All of the traditions overlap in some areas.
