Finding Your Why

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my big 3-month experiment to attract an extra $10,000. What I didn’t say was WHY I chose that particular amount.

A friend and colleague of mine made a comment that just going around wishing for a lot of money isn’t all that affective. I would agree. The truth is, there is a very specific reason behind the amount of money I want to attract. Actually, there are two very specific reasons. I just haven’t been talking about them.

One is over $8,000 to pay off some investments I made in my business last year. The other is for something fun. I like to put my work and my reward orders in to the Universe at the same time. When I came up with the number it was actually $9,972, so I rounded up to $10,000 for my blog.

So maybe I wasn’t completely clear, but I do want to state that it is VERY important for you to have reasons behind WHY you are trying to attract certain things. Some people think it’s wrong to attract money at all and would rather attract houses, cars, vacations, etc. I have found over the years that I am good at attracting money, which I can then use to pay for houses, cars, vacations, etc.

While I have attracted other things seemingly out of nowhere, I have to admit that sometimes I get impatient, frustrated, and a little creeped out by the way those things happen. Money, though? I’m more comfortable with people giving me money for “no reason,” rather than, say, “a car.”

By the way, I once traded a flashlight for a car, so I’m not saying it’s not impossible, just that it tends to be a little weird to me.

It really is up to you as to how you want to do things, but the important thing is to make sure you have a reason for what you are doing. Yes, you can attract a cup of coffee or a feather to “prove” the Law of Attraction works. But then move on. Dream bigger. Just know what your dreams are.
