How Much Money Do You Really Need?

In this day and age of raising prices, and coaches trying to see how expensive they can make their programs, when do you say “Enough is enough!” and let the struggle for more, more, more go?

As a business coach, I recognized this dilemma pretty early. I was actually involved with a group that promotes the idea that more is more, and more is way better. But I’ve lived at both ends of the spectrum. I lived in my car for nearly two years. I grew up dirt poor, without even food to eat. I’ve struggled with money my whole life.

So of course when people told me I needed to work on my Money Mindset, I believed them. And you know what? They were right. It’s true that you have to know what your subconscious beliefs are about money. You have to know where you stand, and you need to be able to make enough. Hell, more than enough. Otherwise, how are you going to donate the extra?

Being poor is NOT spiritual (look for my book by that title coming next summer!), but being greedy isn’t either. Young grasshopper, you must find your own Middle Way. You do not have to strive to get to 6 figures, and once you get there, you are not in 6-figure bondage. It’s important to know where you stand, what you need, and why you are doing what you do.

Want to supply a well for an African village? You need about $4,800. Want to send 5 local children to college? You’ll need at least an extra $150,000 depending on if what school you want to send them to. Add inflation, and your scholarship foundation could be looking at way more. Want to start a retreat center for awesometastic meditation and yoga gurus? Cha-ching to the cost of $500,000 to a cool million.

So money isn’t all bad. And you may have big dreams that mean you need to make way more than the average bear. How do you find out for sure? Just download the free template below on How Much Money Do You Really Need? It will walk you through the steps you need to take to get clear on your finances. Then, you can price your services accordingly and stop chasing other people’s dreams.

Can Your Heart Line Help You Improve Relationships?

Can your Heart Line really help improve your relationships? Your Heart Line helps determine whether you are an Earth, Air, Water, or Fire personality. Knowing your type can help you understand your relationships.

Take a look at your hand. Where does you Heart Line end? The picture to the right can help you identify if you have an Earth, Air, Fire, or Water Heart Line.

If you have an Earth Heart Line, you are practical and down-to-Earth. You may be a bit reserved. Though you have a few strong relationships, you like to spend time alone.
To improve your relationships, connect with others through your feelings. Try sending a short, sweet note to let someone know you care.

If you have an Air Heart Line, you are rational and diplomatic. You like to plan for the future, and make sure you are organized.
To improve your relationships, Air types should take more chances. Be spontaneous, get out of your comfort zone! The next time you get the urge to be spontaneous, do it.

If you have a Fire Heart Line, you are intense and passionate about life. You have a flair for drama (the good kind), and are a hoot to be around.
To improve your relationships, Fire types should ask for what you really want. Make plans for something you want to do instead of waiting for someone else to decide.

If you have a Water Heart Line, you are caring and empathetic, and have a huge heart. You can get lost in nurturing others.

To improve your relationships, take some time out for you. Do something you want. Treat yourself like you treat everyone else. Be self-ful. A little pampering will help you continue to care for others!

Not sure which line you have? Want to find out more about what your Heart Line and your fingerprints have to say about your relationships?

School of Love and Communication

The School of Love and Communication is represented by the Cups in the Tarot (the Ace of Cups in the Gilded Tarot by Ciro Marcetti is pictured here). But what does it mean to be in the School of Love and Communication?

Because humans are evolving and going through so many changes right now, many people chose the School of Love and Communication as their School of Purpose this lifetime. This School of Purpose is all about experiencing your emotions. As you learn and grow, you will often feel like you are on an emotional roller-coaster. This is normal.

Unfortunately, there is a LOT of confusion around the School of Love and Communication, especially in the spiritual and metaphysical communities. Mastering your emotions and learning to connect to others and have meaningful relationships does not mean that you never experience so-called “bad” or “negative” emotions. It doesn’t mean that you don’t get angry. It doesn’t mean that you don’t get sad or even depressed. Some spiritual teachers will tell you that the true goal of spiritual or emotional mastery is to overcome your negative emotions.

When you spend your time labeling certain emotions as “bad,” and trying to overcome them, you actually end up doing more harm than good. Often you suppress your emotions until you end up blowing up at those around you. My husband and I have a joke when we see people fighting not to be angry or sad. We say, “Yes, just stuff that emotion down into a deep, dark well where it can never hurt you again.”

A better plan is to experience the emotion and not try so hard to label it as good or bad. Being human means that you have access to all of your emotions. By not allowing yourself to experience them, you are cutting off the very thing that makes you human – as well as the very thing that can help you connect with the School of Love and Communication.

This is not about acting out or blowing up at people. Nor is it about wallowing in your guilt or depression. Those are actions that you take. What we are talking about here is experiencing your emotions – not acting out on them. You see you can experience your emotions and not exhibit a bunch of drama in your life. It is a very powerful place to be.

Do you allow yourself to experience your emotions? Let me know in the comments below.

Support Group

Are you a psychic or intuitive healer who feels like no one understands? Do you get urges to tell people things you know, but don’t know how to approach them, or if you even should? Do you feel like you hold back too much or hide yourself for fear that people will think you’re a weirdo?

Me, too. And countless others out there. So we’re forming a psychic and intuitive support group to talk about the issues that come up. You’ll meet people from all over the World who face the same challenges as you do, who understand your struggles, and who can hold space for you when you’re feeling down about it all.

Let’s face it – being you is tough. You face pressure from people who believe in strict dogmatic religions. Heck, if you’re like me, you might have been raised in one and wondered if you really were “evil” when you were younger! You see very few people around who are like you, and almost no one in mainstream media. You may not feel comfortable going to events or parities because, “What if someone found out” who you really are?

Join our group to talk about these issues. We’ll have support phone calls twice a month where you can discuss your particular challenges, tell stories of your latest mis-step or triumph, and breathe a sigh of relief knowing that you’re not the only one. BlogaThon 2013

So at the last possible second, I’ve decided to join this year’s 30 Day BlogaThon challenge with Michelle Rafter. Why? Because she’s divided the people participating into categories. Hooray! Last year I had a really difficult time connecting with people, and felt weighed down by the number of writers and translators, as I have no interest in that area. This year, however, there is a whole category for spirituality (as well as one for business). My two favorite things. So yes – I can participate! Check out the info at: http://michellerafter.com/2013/06/01/ready-set-go-the-2013-wordcount-blogathon-is-here

Why do I recommend challenges like this? They can be awesome for any School of Purpose! Challenges like this will help you sharpen your sword if you are in the School of Wisdom. The networking and connections you make fulfill your goals from the School of Love and Communication. And, you just might help a person or three, satisfying your School of Service. Never done something like this before? Just stepping into the challenge will rock your School of Peace.

So join the Blog-a-Thon and check out the Facebook group. See you there!

School of Love and Communication Exercise

Here is some information on an exercise you can do if you are in the School of Love and Communication.

This chart can help you identify your feelings if you aren’t that good at it (yet):

How are you doing expressing your feelings? Is it a barrier for you, or have you gotten in touch with how you really feel? I’d love to hear what’s worked for you (and what hasn’t). Just leave a comment below:

How Going Blonde Nearly Killed Me

blondeI’ve been doing a LOT of work around forgiveness, dealing with my childhood, and trying to “get over” the fact that my stepfather tried to molest me for years.

I knew that when my I dyed my hair blonde again (my natural color), it would stir up some issues for me.

I thought I was ready. I was dead wrong.

That evening when I came home from the salon, I was already feeling a bit squirrely, but I didn’t want to believe that I was going to have issues. I had nightmares all night. I woke up off and on, and could barely sleep. And then I had a headache for three days. It was like a migraine, except it kept moving all around my head. It was worse than anything I’ve ever felt before (and I’ve had some pretty severe, “go to the hospital” migraines).

On Saturday, my husband left the house for some reason. I don’t know why, and I don’t remember where he went or what he did. All I know is that I ended up laying on the floor of the bathroom for a few hours moaning. I literally thought I might die. It didn’t seem rational, but I wasn’t in a very rational mood. I couldn’t stand up without feeling like I was going to be sick, so I crawled around the house for a bit, and then I just laid in the middle of the floor and sobbed.

I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t prepared for this. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t forgiven myself enough, or forgiven my parents enough, or whatever it was that I hadn’t done enough. And yes, I did pity myself for a while. And I got to wallow in some self-doubt, and I even got to beat myself up for not being “spiritual” enough for a bit.

So I guess I still have some work to do.

Remember the next time you are making big spiritual and healing leaps in your life, it’s okay to take it slowly. Peeling back too many layers at once may leave you moaning on the floor feeling like you’re going to die. You’re perfect where you are, and your journey is perfect, too. No need to rush things.

And no need to go blonde before you’re ready.

Have you ever taken too big of a spiritual leap before? Do you ever wish you could just “get over” or “get through” things? Let me know about it in the comments below. I don’t want to be laying here on the bathroom floor all alone.
