Today I’m going to combine two of the topics from Little City Witch’s 44 Days of Witchery Blog Challenge: a favorite mythological animal and your sun sign.
My sign is Taurus. When I was in the third grade or so, I heard a story about a Minotaur. I put the two together and have thought that way every since!
Minotaurs have the body of a human and the head of a bull. Sounds just like me, at least as I was growing up. Or so I’m told. 😉
The most common story of a minotaur is of the one in the labyrinth. The particular minotaur in that story was a ferocious beast. Every nine years (or every year in a couple of versions), seven Athenian male children and seven female children had to be sent into the labyrinth as a sacrifice. Theseus volunteered to slay the beast and, following a ball of yarn out of the maze, he saved all of the children.
Unfortunately on the way home Theseus forgot to put up the white sail on his ship and his father King Aegus, overcome with grief (because he thought his son and the children had been killed) threw himself into the sea which still bears his name today.
On a happier note, there are a lot of other minotaur stories out there, not only in mythological stories but in fantasy and fiction even today. After all, you can even play a minotaur in Dungeons and Dragons if you want. So you can make your own story.
What is your sun sign? Do you have any stories about it? I’d love to hear from you.

One response to “Sun Sign Story”
Very interesting!
My sun sign is Sagittarius though now they are saying that it’s a whole new sign called, “Ophiuchus.” I guess that in itself is a story because all of a sudden I have a whole new sun sign! LOL! They actually sound somewhat similar though–honest, philosophical and mystical…
In Vedic Astrology, however, my sun sign is Scorpio so…LOL!
